Hello,

proof reading services

My name is Gina Chelette. I am a first year college student in Chicago. While I am studying hard to get my Bachelor degree I need to earn a little bit of money in the meantime.

My specialty is proofreading. I’ve been doing it for years for a very successful small business owner, who happens to be my Mom. Beate is the PhotoBizCoach and I help her with proof reading the copy for her Tip Sheet which is her monthly newsletter. If you click here you can see samples of my work.

Why would you need someone like me?

If you are like most, you know what you want to say but grammar, sentence structure and flow is not your specialty. All your copy needs is a second set of eyes and a bit of tweaking here and there.

You may even be a non-native English speaker (just like my Mom) and your native sentence structures don’t quite translate perfectly into English.

That’s where I come in. You send me an email or a Word document with your copy. I proof read it and if it’s in Word I redline the document so you see what I did. That way you can reject or accept the changes to the document. I work fast, after all I have a busy schedule to keep and will turn around your copy in 48 hours.

My hourly rate is $25. I get paid via PayPal. You send me your copy, I proof it, I’ll send you a request for payment when it’s done, you pay it and I will email your finished copy.

Please e-mail me and ask for the PhotoBiz Coach special.

If you have questions you can contact me at Gina@livesome.com.

I look forward to working with you.

Here are some samples:

Check out my client photographer Dorit Thies for her ASPP Member Profile interview.

We welcome new member Dorit Thies and thank her for being our July/August interview!

1)You have made a successful transition from hair and make-up artist to photographer- when did you make the jump and how would you advise others to transition careers like this?

Thank you for the opportunity to be interviewed. I have an unusual background, as I was a registered nurse first in my home country of Germany. From there I became a cosmetologist and worked with a Dermatologist for 4 years in Hamburg before I got involved with the Photography industry. I started doing make-up in Hamburg, which I did successfully for about 12 years throughout Europe before I made the decision to move to the US.

When I arrived in Los Angeles in the late 80’s, I primarily did catalog shoots and celebrity layouts for magazines. . Soon, I realized that I was getting bored with that kind of work, and that I was more interested in taking control of my own shoots. I decided it was time to change direction. Of course it took years of learning, but eventually, I started my own personal fine art project, which got me totally hooked. I was now supporting my dream to become a photographer with the work as an H+M artist for a few more years.

I got my first big break when I was offered a cover shoot for a German “Men’s Health Magazine”. My work blew them away and I had earned their trust. This led to continuous assignments for the next 5 years! I was given complete control on the shoot productions from start to finish, and organized the castings as well. I was able to start labeling my work as Fitness & Health and that was a great beginning. I started traveling to New York to make contacts with other Fitness magazines. Eventually, I established a good reputation.

A few years ago, I started shooting more Beauty photography. Because of my background as a make-up artist, I understood it well, so I worked very closely with my make-up artists and my retouchers. It was clear to me immediately that I was able to integrate this very well into my already existing repertoire of Specialties. My success and business coach Beate Chelette suggested I call my business Beauty, Health and Wellness Photography and voila!

Take a look at client photographer Michael Albany whose blog entry I proofed. http://www.michaelalbany.com/2010/07/alleviating-the-pain/

I also proofed his LinkedIn profile to make it more relevant for his clients. Click here.
